General Introduction

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established under the name of Zonguldak Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences affiliated to Hacettepe University with the law dated 18.06.1987 and numbered 3389 and started education in Hacettepe University Beytepe Campus in 1987-1988. On 03.07.1992, with the additional 9th article of the law on the establishment of our university dated 03.07.1992 and numbered 3837, its name and connection were changed and it became Çaycuma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences affiliated to Zonguldak Karaelmas University. The name of Çaycuma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was changed to “Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences” on 21.11.2005 with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2005/9691. Our faculty consists of six departments: Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, International Trade and Business Administration, and Political Science and Public Administration. The Business Administration 30% English undergraduate program was opened with the decision taken on 06.08.2009 and has been continuing its education and training activities since 2009. In addition, a Compulsory English Preparatory Class has been opened since the 2010-2011 academic year. Until today, the course catalog of our program has been finalized by making various updates between 2009-2022.

Our department aims to train potential managers with effective decision-making skills required by the economic, legal and social environment in which businesses operate. For this purpose, basic business administration courses such as strategic management, marketing, quantitative method applications, accounting and finance are included in the curriculum of the department. At the same time, economics courses at a sufficient level are also included in the course plan in order to enable students to comprehend the consequences of economic developments and events that concern businesses. The department aims to provide students with sufficient skills in statistics, operations management, computer and information processing systems for the effectiveness of decision-making functions.
